In the season finale, Thirteen discovers she has, as she had long dreaded, Huntington's disease, which is incurable. House describes himself as "a board-certified diagnostician with a double specialty of infectious disease and nephrology". Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), House's one true friend, is the head of the Department of Oncology. Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), an endocrinologist, is House's boss, as she is the hospital's dean of medicine and chief administrator.

Born in Chicago, Jennifer Marie Morrison, worked as a child model, having appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids with Michael Jordan when she was 10 years old. She also did print work for JC Penney and commercials for Rice Krispies and Mondo. After high school, Jennifer attended Loyola University in Chicago, studying theater and English. Before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, she studied at the famed Steppenwolf Theater company in Chicago. Born Robert Lawrence Leonard on February 28, 1969 in New Jersey, he attended Columbia University.
Early life
The amantadine binds with the proteins in blood, and when her organs are damaged in the bus crash, the amantadine is unable to be filtered out causing multi-system organ failure from amantadine poisoning. Amber later dies in Wilson's arms when he wakes her up from a coma to say goodbye to her before turning off the life support machines. House's fragmented memories reveal that Amber had gone to lend a ride to a drunken House at a bar on behalf of, but unbeknownst to, Wilson, who was at work at the time. Amber followed him onto the bus in order to give him his cane, which he had forgotten and left behind.
Hugh Laurie played the titular Dr. Gregory House.
Seizing the opportunity, House recommended his friend James Wilson for the job. Wilson was enthusiastic about moving to Princeton, but House didn't find out why for several years - Wilson's schizophrenic brother Danny Wilson had disappeared from Princeton University. In addition to her work on screen, Annable has an eye for interior design and made headlines when she decided to fix up her family's Austin residence.

This is then overlaid with an image of Dr. House's face taken from the pilot episode with the show's full title appearing across his face. House's head then fades and the show's title is underlined and has the "M.D." appear next to it, producing the entire logo of the show. All subsequent episodes contain a longer sequence including the names of the six featured cast members and creator David Shore. Laurie's name appears first, followed by the names of the five other featured cast members in alphabetical order (Edelstein, Epps, Leonard, Morrison, and Spencer, then Shore). In May 2011, Edelstein announced she would not be returning to the House cast and, since leaving the show in its penultimate season, she landed recurring roles on seven different TV series and joined the cast of The Good Wife just a month after her House departure. Below is a list of actors and actresses that are or were part of the cast of the American drama television series House.
References to the fact that House was based on the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle appear throughout the series. Shore explained that he was always a Holmes fan and found the character's indifference to his clients unique. The resemblance is evident in House's reliance on deductive reasoning and psychology, even where it might not seem obviously applicable, and his reluctance to accept cases he finds uninteresting. His investigatory method is to eliminate diagnoses logically as they are proved impossible; Holmes used a similar method.
First Episode Appearance
House is often filmed using the "walk and talk" filming technique, popularized on television by series such as St. Elsewhere, ER, Sports Night, and The West Wing. The technique involves the use of tracking shots, showing two or more characters walking between locations while talking. Jacobs said that the show frequently uses the technique because "when you put a scene on the move, it's a... way of creating an urgency and an intensity". She noted the significance of "the fact that Hugh Laurie spans 6'2" and is taller than everybody else because it certainly makes those walk-and-talks pop". Nancy Franklin of The New Yorker described the show's "cool, Fantastic Voyage–like special effects of patients' innards. I'll bet you didn't know that when your kidneys shut down they sound like bubble wrap popping." "Cameras and special effects travel not only down the throat of one patient," another critic observed, "but up her nose and inside her brain and leg." Since leaving the sterile halls of her teaching hospital, Morrison has continued with a successful career with roles in the 2009 Star Trek film (as Captain Kirk's mother), How I Met Your Mother, Warrior and, of course, as Emma Swan on 2011 to 2018's Once Upon a Time.
The series' premise originated with Paul Attanasio, while David Shore, who is credited as creator, was primarily responsible for conceiving the title character. Writers Doris Egan, Sara Hess, Russel Friend, and Garrett Lerner joined the team at the start of season two. Friend and Lerner, who are business partners, had been offered positions when the series launched, but turned the opportunity down. From the beginning of season four, Moran, Friend, and Lerner were credited as executive producers on the series, joining Attanasio, Jacobs, Shore, and Singer.[30] Hugh Laurie was credited as an executive producer for the second[32] and third[33] episodes of season five. As House and Cuddy's relationship progresses, they have clashes at work, including trying to keep the ER and ICU open. Meanwhile, Remy Hadley decides to take a leave of absence for a trip to Thailand.
He is smart, but never smarter than House, and often gets distracted by personal issues such as his frequent infidelity and eventual divorce. Despite his flaws, Taub is likable and entertaining, and typically a useful member of the team. In "House," Olivia Wilde played the role of Dr. Remi Hadley (though she prefers to go by "Thirteen").

House states he is going to research dark matter, citing galactic rotation and detection, if he leaves medicine. House agrees to let Stacy work at PPTH so she can work with Mark during his rehabilitation, and House soon is plotting to steal her away. They share a night together while Stacy considers leaving Mark, but at the last moment House realizes he will eventually make Stacy miserable again and tells her to stay with Mark, who can make her happy.
"Some Devil" plays at the end of season 1’s “Love Hurts” episode and "You Might Die Trying" plays in season 5’s "Not Cancer." Fellow musician Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy later guest starred in season 8’s episode 17. Meat Loaf also had a cameo in 2009, and Brandy appeared early on, making an appearance in season 1. In season 8, they start living together to prove to the INS that they are a legitimate couple. In We Need the Eggs, it seems that House has started to develop feelings towards Dominika. House's dysfunctionality is further exhibited when Dominika discovers House has been keeping the news of her citizenship from her, leading to her distrust of him and causing her to angrily move out.

Given that Hollywood film producers weren't embracing him any longer, Leonard turned his sights to television in The Outer Limits and Wasteland. A few more films turned out to be box office poison, but then along the chance to become part of the House cast. Edelstein also lends her voice to shows such as American Dad, King of the Hill and Justice League. During any downtime that she has, the actress volunteers her time with a variety of charity organization, including Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, The Anti-Defamation League, Planned Parenthood and The Center for Reproductive Rights. Perhaps her biggest role was as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, the Dean of Medicine, on House.
By the end of the season, however, Cameron recognizes that she has romantic feelings for Chase and they begin a serious relationship. After leaving the diagnostic team, they assume different roles at the PPTH, Cameron as a senior attending physician in the emergency room and Chase as a surgeon. They become engaged in the Season 5 episode Saviors (the episode immediately following Kutner's suicide) and are married in the season finale. When Chase rejoins House's team in Season 6, Cameron leaves her husband and the hospital in Teamwork, the season's eighth episode.
It's at this time that former fellowship candidate, Amber Volakis, begins a relationship with Wilson. At first untrusting of Amber's motives for involvement with Wilson, he tests and questions her and her responses appear to satisfy him as to her genuine interest in Wilson, if not with the eventual outcome of the relationship itself. Despite this 'stalemate' between them, House still antagonizes her and fights with her to spend more time with Wilson.
House spent the next several years as Department Head doing as little as possible to keep his job, although he was assigned a star diagnostic team that he regularly abused and belittled. Nevertheless, he soon proved his worth as the "go to" doctor for complex and problematic cases. The real reason Edelstein left "House" was due to conflicts over contract renewals and pay cuts. Leonard is also set to appear in Season 2 of "The Gilded Age," HBO's American historical drama series.
